• 115 elements known-only 90 occur in nature
• all elements are made up of the same kind of atom
• the smallest particle of an element is an atom
• elements are the building blocks of all matter

Units:

There are no units for elements, but there are symbols.

Everyday examples of Elements:

Elements are in our everyday life, for example, when you eat cereal milk is needed, there is calcium in milk, which is an element. Another element is one we could not live without, oxygen. A few more examples if elements are silver, gold, and iron.
