Combined Gas Law Formula

Sample Problems: A gas has a pressure of 80atm, a volume of 5 liters, and a temperature at 150°C. If you raise the volume to 6 liters and pressure to 740atm, what is the new temperature of the gas?

A gas has a temperature of 356K, a pressure of 40atm, and an unknown volume. If the temperature is raised to 462K, the pressure is decreased to 30atm, and the volume is measured after the change of 14 liters, then what was the original volume of the gas?

Explanation: The first pressure is multiplied by the first volume given in the problem and answer is divided by the first temperature. The answer to this problem should be equal to the second pressure times the second volume divided by the second temperature.

Units: Pressure= atm (Atmosphere)
Volume= Liters
Temperature= Kelvin
